Dog-walking Program Wag may be Increasing a huge round of funding

A brand new program called Wag! Can bring on-demand relief to puppies and their busy owners. Think Uber for dog walkers. Download the iOS program, and complete a short profile with your puppy’s name, age, breed, notes regarding their personality, and the vet’s name and phone number (optional). The most recent gig I’ve been trying out is employed as an on-demand puppy walker using a program named Wag. Like lots of these kind of apps, I heard about the wag app from my brother, who signed up for it back when it first started. He lives out to the East Coast, so he tends to get these apps before they make their way over to me personally at the Midwest. So what is Wag? The simplest way to describe Wag is like an Uber for dog walking. If a person wants their puppy walked, they can open the wag app, arrange a dog walker, and someone is going to show up at their house to walk their dog. Pretty nifty.

Teddy, a 4-year-old black jindo mix, escaped certain sin at a Korean meat farm and a trip halfway across the world only to be dropped at Prospect Park by among the app’s leash jockeys, according to owner Kane Giblin. “I was so stunned that I didn’t react, and then halfway through the call, I burst into tears I was sobbing,” she told The Post concerning the Nov. 30 moment she learned the dog had escaped its leash onto a Wag walker’s watch. Since that time, there were about a dozen potential Teddy sightings in Prospect Park and adjoining nabes, but the tail-wagger may be too fearful of people to be corralled.

Love dogs? Then the walker displays up, walks the dog, and drops off him safely in the home. A 30-minute stroll costs a puppy’s humans $20 ($25 at San Francisco), and an hour prices $30. Wag walkers get paid after each walk, but the company takes some of the cut. And because they’re contractors that aren’t employed by Wag they don’t get taxed initially and need to pay a part of their dog-walking income back to the government at the close of the year. Ultimately, Wag is worth it if you are a student or looking for something part time. But if you are trying to make a living walking dogs, you’d most likely have to start your very own personal business.
